Earn Your 14 Florida Live Hours With Weekly Webinars

Florida requires 14 of your 26 hours to come from in-person or interactive, real-time courses. It's one of the steepest live requirements in the country — and we help you meet it. We run a live webinar every week, all of them interactive and real-time, which is exactly what the Board's rule allows. Attend regularly and you can earn all 14 live hours from home.

Your next renewal deadline is February 28, 2027. Between now and then we'll run a live webinar nearly every week, plus extended multi-hour sessions in January. Attend a little over half of them and you'll have all 14 live hours.

Florida tracks continuing education through CE Broker, and hunting down certificates at renewal is the part nobody enjoys. When you finish one of our live webinars, we report your completion to CE Broker within 48 hours. All you have to do is enable CE Broker reporting after you take the course, and we'll take it from there.

64B11-5.001 Requirements for License Renewal of an Active License; Continuing Education.

Continuing education includes attendance and participation as required at approved live or interactive presentations such as workshop, seminar, conference, webinar, or in-service educational programs. It may also include participation in other approved professional activities, such as pro bono and expert witness services, or those that require a formal assessment of learning, such as formalized self-study courses and other non-interactive learning programs. An active license shall be renewed upon demonstration that the licensee has paid the renewal fee set forth in Rule 64B11-2.008, F.A.C., and has complied with the following requirements:

(1) As a condition to the renewal of an active license, an occupational therapist must complete twenty-six (26) hours of approved continuing education per biennium.

(2) As a condition to the renewal of an active license, an occupational therapy assistant must complete twenty-six (26) hours of approved continuing education per biennium.

(3) At least fourteen (14) of the required hours per biennium must be in person or from interactive, real-time courses. An interactive, real-time course may be a web-based, satellite transmitted, telephone or video conference, or online instruction program that allows or requires the licensee to interact in real time, including live chat, with the instructor during the presentation of the program or in a question and answer session upon completion of the program.

Step 2: Confirm the Florida OT continuing education requirements. 

It’s always good to double check for any updates to your licensing cycle. You can do so with the resources above. And, please reach out to me if you see any discrepancies.

Step 3: Earn your CEU hours.

First renewal cycle? Florida also requires 1 hour of HIV/AIDS education, which counts toward your 26. That makes it 21 hours from us and 5 from other providers.
